Cedar trails, salt air, and horses at the heart of our island.

BIHORA is a volunteer-run society connecting Bowen Island's horse owners and riders — stewarding the Crippen Park riding ring, advocating for shared trails, and welcoming everyone into the island's equestrian community.

Everyone is welcome

A community for horse owners, riders, and everyone who loves them.

Since 1982, BIHORA has connected people who own or ride horses on Bowen Island — and welcomed everyone who wants to become part of the island's horse community. Whether you're a lifelong rider or simply curious, there's a place for you here.

What we do

Preserving Bowen's rural equestrian culture.

Steward the riding ring

Through our partnership with Metro Vancouver Regional Parks, we maintain the riding ring in Crippen Regional Park for members and visitors alike.

Advocate for multi-use trails

We champion continued equestrian access on Bowen's trails and public spaces, working with parks and landowners across the island.

Share the trail safely

We help educate hikers, cyclists and dog walkers on how to meet and pass horses safely — because trails work best when we share them well.

Get in touch

Come ride, volunteer, or just say hello.

We'd love to hear from you — whether you're an established Bowen rider, new to the island, or curious about joining the community.
